The School of Arts & Humanities at Barton College is accepting applications for Adjunct Instructors in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Digital and Strategic Communications including among other areas; market research, defining target audiences and goals, message creation, media strategy, campaign evaluation, audio recording, and video production. This position will report directly to the Dean of the school as well as the Mass Communications Program Coordinator. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching traditional and non-traditional undergraduate students.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Earned doctorate or terminal degree in Mass Communications or related field with substantial professional experience. ABD will be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience.
- Collaborative disposition.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to working with students and colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
Please note that preference will be given to candidates able to teach face-to-face. While online opportunities may become available, it is desired that the candidate would be on campus a minimum of two days a week.
