The Office of Admissions looks forward to hosting your group on campus soon! Select a date at the link below that you want to request for your group visit. This is a request form only, your group visit will be confirmed after you have communicated with the Director of Campus Visits.

Group Visit schedules will be adjusted depending on the ages of the group and if lunch is added. Middle School age and below will do an educational scavenger hunt around campus and high school age groups will take a campus tour. Your group will have the opportunity to meet current students, visit our campus store, see athletic facilities and a residence hall.

 

Groups are welcome to eat lunch in our Culinary Center- on campus cafeteria.
Lunch cost for group visits is $7.10+ tax per person. All checks are to be made out to Barton College. Please confirm the number of students/adults that will be eating lunch one week prior to your visit date. Max number our cafeteria can accommodate is 60 guest

Any lunch invoice created for your visit cannot be changed after your group number has been confirmed one week prior.

Group Visit FAQ

Your visit will last about two to two and a half hours. The actual tour or scavenger hunt will last around one hour. 

There will be a large amount of time walking around campus. If you or one of your students or guests has difficulty walking and will need special accommodations (i.e., golf cart tour), please be sure to note that on the request form.

We do not have a max on how many students or guests you may bring with your group. However, our cafeteria can only accommodate so many people at one time. The limit for lunch in our cafetera is 60.

All confirmed requests must be finalized one week prior to the visit day requested.This includes scheduling, numbers, lunch and payment details.

Our Director of Campus Visits will be the main contact for your group visit. While classes are in session, we are assisted by student ambassadors, current students with a variety of backgrounds and interests. They will show your group around campus, tell you about their own Barton experiences, and answer questions about student life. When classes are not in session and student ambassadors are not available, an admissions counselor will lead your group.

Absolutely! We encourage parents or other family members to come along on the tour with your students. We ask there is one chaperone or group leader per 10 students.

Once we have received your request to visit, a confirmation email/  phone call and reminder email will be sent from the Office of Campus Visits. You will also receive a confirmation call a week prior to your visit to confirm all details. Please be sure to provide an accurate email address and daytime phone number.

Once confirmed, we will send you an email that will include directions, parking information, and a schedule for your visit.

Your confirmation email will have web site links with driving directions and parking instructions. You can also click here for an online campus map.

Registration cuts off two weeks before a requested date to allow our office to reserve spaces and confirm numbers with our Culinary Center. All details must be confirmed one week prior to the visit date.

We understand that schedules and transportation can change. We ask you to call the Director of Campus Visits at 252-399-6312 to please let us know as soon as you are able about any changes to your schedule or if you need to cancel or reschedule your group visit.

Schedules do have some flexibility. However, we do try to fit all aspects of the schedule into the assigned time otherwise we may need to shorten the tour or lunch time. Please call the Office of Admissions at 252-399-6317 and let one of our staff members know your approximate arrival time so we can make the necessary adjustments to your schedule.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your visit, please call the Director of Campus Visits at 252-399-6312 so that we can make the appropriate changes to your visit. There will also be  links to cancel and reschedule your visit in your confirmation and reminder emails.

Bring questions! We want your group to ask lots of questions while you are on campus. You’ll be talking with people who know the answers. 

For group leaders, please bring any applicable payment day of your visit.

Remember of the visit will involve walking, so wear comfortable shoes. Attire is casual, but please dress appropriately for the weather as you will be outside for a good portion of the tour. During the summer months, you may find a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to be particularly useful. Also, remember to bring an umbrella or other rain attire if precipitation is in the forecast.

We give tours, rain or shine, unless the College is forced to close because of dangerous weather conditions. If this happens, all tours and appointments for the day are canceled. We will be happy to work with you to reschedule your visit.

Behavior & Tour Expectations

Just a reminder that we ask you and your chaperones to monitor your students’ behavior and please respect Barton College’s students, faculty, staff, and grounds. If your students are unruly or disrespectful, the visit may be suspended at the discretion of the admissions staff. Listed here are our expectations of conduct for visiting groups. Chaperones are asked to enforce compliance to these rules.

  • Each group should provide at least one chaperone for every 10 students.
  • Students should speak in an appropriate tone and volume for a business environment while on campus.
  • During campus tours, please give your full attention and respect to our student ambassadors and admissions counselors.
  • For both presentations and tours, electronic devices should be silenced or deactivated.
  • Groups should stay together. Wandering off is not permitted.

Any group with an outstanding balance will not be able to register for another visit until balance has been paid.

Note our spring break is March 21-30th. The cafeteria will be closed this week.
