2023-2024 Freshman Scholarships
Each year Barton recognizes the scholarly preparation of entering freshmen by awarding scholarships based on academic performance. These awards reflect our commitment to helping students set ambitious goals and achieve them. These scholarship offerings begin with the fall class. Other prior classes, please refer to your incoming catalog for scholarship renewal criteria.

Trustee Scholarship
The Trustee Scholarship recognizes our most excellent all-around students. Since 2009, the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund has provided one of the many trustee scholarships awarded each academic year. To be eligible, you must:
- Award: $16,000.00 per year
- Required GPA for renewal: 2.00
Presidential Scholarship
- Award: $14,000.00 per year
- Required GPA for renewal: 2.00
Barton W. Stone Scholarship
- Award: $12,000.00 per year
- Required GPA for renewal: 2.00
John J. Harper Scholarship
- Award: $10,000.00 per year
- Required GPA for renewal: 2.00
Opportunity Award
- Award: $5,000.00 per year
- Required GPA for renewal: 2.00
Additional Scholarship Opportunities
Whitehurst Family Honors Program Scholarships
The Whitehurst Family Honors Program awards scholarships to qualified students through our invitation-only scholarship competition. The eligibility requirements are:
- Students must have applied and been accepted to the Honors Program.
- Students must attend an on-campus scholarship competition to be considered for one of these awards.
- Required GPA: 3.5 (unweighted)
- Required Test Scores: 1200 SAT or 24 ACT
