Nicole Harrison is a 2016 MSN Barton graduate. Her clinical practice is currently adult medical-surgical nursing. She also has experience in pediatrics and neurology and has a passion for those suffering with mental health issues. She dedicates her time to preparing future nursing students as Certified Nursing Assistants to obtain necessary entry- level skills required for nursing school. She also holds certifications as a North Carolina Board of Nursing Medication Aide and Personal Care Aide instructor. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Gardner-Webb University in 2019.
Since joining Barton, she has developed interests in minority student retention and success. She also enjoys spending time with students in the lab. Her research interests include student-nurse bedside reporting, minority women’s health disparities, nursing education, and cognitive development of children with craniosynostosis.
