Ginger Madrigal is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Barton College, where she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students. In her first year at Barton, Ginger is excited to contribute to the academic community that shaped her own nursing journey. She graduated from Barton College with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2014 and later earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a concentration in Nursing Education in 2019.
Before joining Barton College, Ginger taught as a full-time instructor within the Associate Degree of Nursing and then in the Bachelor of Science of Nursing curriculum, accumulating five years of diverse teaching experience. Her passion for education is matched only by her dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable populations, particularly in the realm of psychiatric and mental health nursing. She has received an ANCC certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and is committed to raising awareness about the challenges faced by psychiatric patients.
Ginger’s clinical background includes experience in Psychiatric Mental Health, Emergency Department, Dialysis, and Telemetry. She currently practices at the bedside on a Progressive Care Unit in a small community hospital, ensuring she remains connected to patient care while mentoring the next generation of nurses.
Those fostered in the Barton College community, Ginger feels at home in an environment that fosters learning and compassion. She looks forward to inspiring her students to pursue excellence in nursing and advocate for those in need, carrying forward the values instilled in her during her time as a Barton bulldog.
