Dr. David Abeling-Judge is a criminologist whose research interests include life-course criminology and desistance from crime. The life-course perspective addresses influences in crime that occur over one’s life, including biological, familial, adolescent, and adult social experiences, as well as acknowledging changes in social influences over time; and desistance research examines psychological and social developments that cause active offenders to cease or reduce their criminal activities. Dr. Abeling-Judge enjoys teaching a variety of courses, including Research Design and Methods, Techniques of Analysis, and Crime and the Life-Course Perspective.
