Carolyn Hornick, M.A.

Carolyn Hornick has been an educator in the field of deaf education since 1990. After graduating from Gallaudet University, she was an itinerant teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing in Maryland and a teacher at the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf. She has been interpreting since 1996 in community, medical, video relay service, and educational settings; and she is currently working at Barton College where she teaches American Sign Language and interprets. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Florida State University and a Master of Arts degree in education of the deaf and hard of hearing from Gallaudet University. She holds a Certificate of Transliteration from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and a North Carolina interpreter’s license.
