Barton College Choir’s Spring Concert Scheduled for Thursday, April 30

WILSON, N.C. — April 16, 2015 — The Barton College Choir will present their spring concert “Songs and Choruses from Musical Theater” on Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in the Kennedy Family Theatre on campus. The performance is open to the public free of charge, and the community is invited to attend. Conducted by music director Mark N. Peterson, the 17-voice ensemble will perform medleys of songs from the shows “Grease” and “Les Misérables,” as well as a potpourri of songs by Stephen Sondheim and Cole Porter. RALEIGH, N.C. — February 11, 2015 — In its first opportunity to compete in the North Carolina Colleges and Universities (NCICU) Ethics Bowl, Barton College quickly moved up the ranks to the championship finals, coming in second to Wake Forest University in the two-day competition recently held at the Campbell University School of Law in Raleigh. Barton Students Prepare Christmas Gifts for Children in Need

WILSON, N.C. – The Christmas Spirit is strong at Barton College. Students, along with faculty, staff, and others across the campus and Wilson communities, came together to gather items and prepare gift boxes just in time for the holidays. The efforts are all a part of Barton’s support for Operation Christmas Child. Dozens of First-Year Seminar (FYS) students crowded Kennedy Family Theatre before Thanksgiving break. Eleven FYS classes packaged nearly 200 gift boxes full of special items both purchased and collected. WILSON, N.C. — Two hundred and fifty-one Barton College seniors and six graduate students received diplomas on Sunday, May 11, during the school’s 112th annual commencement exercises. Participating in the ceremony were Barton students who completed their baccalaureate degree requirements in December 2013 and May 2014, and baccalaureate candidates who expect to fulfill requirements over the summer, as well as graduate students who completed their Master of Education degree in Elementary Education (M.Ed.).
