Barton Nursing Graduates Boast 100% Pass Rate on NCLEX

WILSON, N.C. — Barton College’s School of Nursing has learned that 18 out of 18 graduates (May 2011) taking the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) passed with flying colors. On the heels of that good news, the College’s School of Nursing will celebrate its 40th anniversary, scheduled for Saturday, October 22, during Barton’s Homecoming Weekend. Wilson, N.C. — Barton College Phi Beta Lambda students were recognized with top honors at the recent 2011 Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference held in Anaheim, Calif. Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL), the largest and oldest student business organization, hosted over 1800 college business students and advisers from around the country and the world for its annual conference and the FBLA-PBL Institute for Leaders. New Bulldogs Get Ready for Fall at Summer Orientation 2011

WILSON, N.C. – Students began arriving on campus on June 21 for Barton College’s Summer Orientation, reuniting with their admissions counselors, and meeting their fellow classmates face to face, as they prepared for their first semester as new Bulldogs. Session I, the first of three Summer Orientation sessions, ran June 21-22.  Session II followed later in the week on June 24-25.  The third and final session is scheduled for August 17-19. WILSON, N.C. — The sun shone brightly on the Barton College community as they celebrated Commencement on Sunday, May 22. (Commencement Photo Album) Some 235 seniors participated in the 109th annual commencement exercises. Dr. Norval C. Kneten presided over his eighth commencement program as president of Barton College. WILSON, N.C. — Barton College’s newly established Sigma Beta Delta, International Honor Society in Business, Management, and Administration, recently held its inaugural induction ceremony. Conducting the ceremony for charter members of the Barton College chapter was Dr. James H. The Barton College Gospel Choir will be featured on WRAL-TV’s Spiritual Awakening gospel music program on Sunday morning, May 8, at 6 a.m., and during an encore performance on WRAL’s sister station, WRAZ Fox 50, at 8 a.m. The Barton College Gospel Choir is under the leadership of Holly Zacharias, advisor, and Barton alumnus Terrence Canady, choir director.  TJ Jones is the director of the gospel choir band. Barton Students To Package 40,000 Meals On April 28 To Help “Stop Hunger Now”

WILSON, N.C. — For the fourth consecutive year, the Barton College Student Government Association has raised awareness and funding on campus and throughout the Wilson community for the STOP HUNGER NOW international project. During their first year in 2008, the SGA raised enough funding to package 10,000 meals. By year three, the students had “raised the bar” to package 40,000 meals in April 2010.  On Thursday, April 28, Barton students, faculty, and staff will once again package 40,000 meals for STOP HUNGER NOW.
