WILSON, N.C. — February 29, 2016 — Painting will be the focus of an extraordinary exhibition of works opening this spring in the Barton Art Galleries on the campus of Barton College. Susan Lichtman’s “Domestic Arrangements” in the Virginia Thompson Graves Gallery and Sara Pedigo’s “A Nest of Rooms” in the Lula E. Rackley Gallery will provide an evocative experience for viewers as they catch glimpses of their own lives through the eyes of these artists and the creativity of their paintings. Juried Student Exhibition Comes to Barton Art Galleries December 7-18

WILSON, N.C. —  A semester’s worth of hard work by student artists is going on display at Barton College. The College’s Juried Student Exhibition opens in the Barton Art Galleries on Monday, Dec. 7, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition continues through Friday, Dec. 18. Both events are open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend. For their Juried Student Exhibition, Barton students are invited to enter up to three pieces of art in any medium. WILSON, N.C. — A fresh take on one of the world’s earliest forms of photography can be seen on Friday, Nov. 6, at the Barton Art Galleries. Wilmington-based commercial and fine arts photographer Harry Taylor will visit the galleries for a lecture and demonstration on the tintype technique, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. This event is open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend.
