Artist-in-Residence Will Focus on Photography and Filmmaking in October

WILSON, N.C. — October 5, 2016 — Photography and documentary filmmaking will be showcased through a series of events as Barton College welcomes artist-in-residence Richard Knox Robinson to the Barton Art Galleries in October. His new exhibition, “Notes from Atlantis,” opens on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and runs through Wednesday, Nov. 23. On Thursday, Oct. 13, Barton College Friends of Visual Arts will host its annual FOVA Fall Lecture and Dinner. WILSON, N.C. —  A semester’s worth of hard work by student artists is going on display at Barton College. The College’s Juried Student Exhibition opens in the Barton Art Galleries on Monday, Dec. 7, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition continues through Friday, Dec. 18. WILSON, N.C. — A fresh take on one of the world’s earliest forms of photography can be seen on Friday, Nov. 6, at the Barton Art Galleries. Wilmington-based commercial and fine arts photographer Harry Taylor will visit the galleries for a lecture and demonstration on the tintype technique, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. This event is open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend.
