WILSON, N.C. — The Barton Art Galleries is pleased to announce the opening of “Continuing Conversations,” a group exhibition at Barton College featuring works by members of the Southeast Fibers Educators Association (SEFEA), scheduled for Sunday, March 16. As a result of inclement weather, the Caregiver Education Conference has been postponed until May — details to be posted soon WILSON, N.C. — As a result of inclement weather, the eleventh annual Caregiver Education Conference, originally scheduled for March 4 at Barton College, has been postponed until May. The exact date is to be determined. Advance registration deadline is February 28th! WILSON, N.C. — The eleventh annual Caregiver Education Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, in Hardy Alumni Hall on the Barton College campus. The Gerontology Program of Barton College, Alzheimers North Carolina Inc., the Upper Coastal Plain Area Agency on Aging Family Caregiver Support Program, and Joseph D. Russell, M.D., have teamed up to sponsor this annual conference, which will offer two education sessions. WILSON, N.C. — The 34th annual Thedford G. and Woodrow W. Sprinkle Lectures and the E.G. Purcell, Jr. Bible Conference are scheduled for February 26 and 27 at Barton College. Dr. Bonnie J. Miller-McLemore, E. Rhodes and Leona B. Chris Wilson will present an illustrated lecture on celebrated Northern Renaissance artist Jan van Eyck. WILSON, N.C. — North Carolina landscape artist J. Chris Wilson’s “From Murphy to Manteo—An Artist’s Scenic Journey” will be featured on UNC-TV’s “Our State” program airing Thursday, Jan. 2, at 8 p.m. The feature, titled “Scenes from 64,” will showcase the artist as well as scenes and locations of some of his paintings from the emerging 100-painting collection to be completed in 2014. Wilson, an artist-in-residence and professor emeritus at Barton College, will be shown working on location and in his Wilmington studio where much of the interview was filmed. WILSON, N.C. — The Lighting of the Luminaries and the Service of Christmas Lessons and Carols, long-standing traditions for the Barton College community, will usher in the Christmas season on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The College family invites the surrounding community to join them for this festive celebration of events on campus.
