Career Exploration
Whether you’re undecided about your major or know exactly what you want to do, we will help you explore possible career paths. All Barton College students have access to PathwayU, an interactive career exploration tool. PathwayU, along with our office, can help you narrow your career interests, match those interests to majors at Barton College, and create a plan of action to achieve your career goals. Resume Assistance
We offer resume assistance to our students and alumni by appointment. You may send your resume to the Office of Career Planning through the Hiration online resume builder or email it to us at careerplanning@barton.edu.
Individual Career Advising
Career Planning staff will meet with you to discuss career plans and the resources available to you at Barton that can put you on the path to your ideal career.
Experiential Education
Regardless of your year in school or your experience, Career Planning will assist you in getting real-world experience and applying what you’re learning. We’ll help you arrange informational interviews, job shadowing opportunities, externships, internships, and co-ops.
Job Postings
You have access to internship and job postings sent to us by organizations interested in hiring Barton students and graduates, as well as access to opportunities posted to multiple colleges and universities through Handshake, our online career management system. These postings cover everything from full-time, government, part-time, internship, and international.
Job/Internship Search Assistance
We can help you target your search for companies that are hiring in your field and develop an individualized strategy for getting exactly the kind of job that you want.
Mock Interviews
Mock interviews will help you clarify your thoughts and goals, and correct the small behaviors that might distract the interviewer. We can videotape and review your performance or simply give you an opportunity to practice without taping.

You’ll also find catalogs to help you decide about graduate programs and information on admissions tests such as the GRE, GMAT, MAT, LSAT, PCAT, and the MCAT.
