Barton’s Friends of Visual Arts Welcomes N.C. Museum of Art’s Megan Salazar-Walsh to Speak on October 1

WILSON, N.C. — September 24, 2024 — The Barton Art Galleries at Barton College is excited to host the Friends of Visual Arts Fall Lecture featuring Megan Salazar-Walsh, Exhibitions Conservator at the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA). The event will be held on Tuesday, Oct.1, at 6 p.m., in the Barton Art Galleries in Case Art Building on campus.

About the Speaker —

Currently the Exhibitions Conservator at the North Carolina Museum of Art, Salazar-Walsh previously served as the Associate Conservator of Paintings at The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, in Sarasota, Fla.

She earned a Master of Arts degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in Art Conservation from Buffalo State (SUNY), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Whitman College. She received additional training through conservation internships at The Walters Art Museum, the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis, the Shelburne Museum and the Seattle Art Museum, as well as in several private practices in the United States and Spain.

Salazar-Walsh is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) and has held several leadership roles with the organization.
