Assistant Vice President for Information Technology

Barton College welcomes applications for the position of Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Information Technology. This position will provide vision, guidance, and leadership for technology initiatives and related services across campus that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the College’s academic, administrative, and support functions. We are looking for a seasoned leader who will bring strong strategic leadership and a proactive perspective in identifying IT opportunities that better position the College for continued success in the future. As the College’s senior information technology leader, the AVP will facilitate the integration of technology into academic and administrative functions and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to meet the information technology needs of the College.

Requirements

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and at least eight years of management experience. An advanced degree is preferred. Prior experience in a higher education setting is a plus. The AVP for Information Technology must be knowledgeable about preventing/minimizing external and internal cyber-attacks and security risks. Applicants must have experience in the development and management of a budget and a strong understanding of planning processes and project management principles. Applicant must be able to collaborate with constituents across campus and provide solutions to resolve problems and enhance processes. An in-depth understanding of network infrastructure is required. Cisco network certifications are desirable. Exceptional communication, organizational, managerial, and time-management skills are also required, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
