The School of Sciences at Barton College seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology with an anticipated start date of August 2017.

Barton College is a four-year, private college in Wilson, N.C. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach 24 (twenty-four) credit hours annually at all levels of psychology coursework, with the possibility of instruction during weekends or evenings. Additional responsibilities include: academic advising; ongoing professional scholarship; and service to the School of Sciences, the College campus, and local community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, with evidence of active student engagement.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in field of psychology preferred
  • Demonstrated record of successful college-level teaching.
  • Ability to lead a wide-range of psychology courses with preference for ability to lead Developmental Psychology, Motivation & Emotion, Health Psychology and/or Biopsychology
  • Collaborative disposition with a commitment to service
  • Experience or interest in leading online or hybrid courses
