The School of Sciences at Barton College seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology position with an anticipated start date of August 2017.

The successful candidate will lead 24 (twenty-four) credit hours annually at all levels of undergraduate biology coursework, including upper division courses that cover fundamental principles (genetics, biochemistry), with the possibility of instruction during weekends or evenings. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, holding office hours, assisting students outside of class, active participation in the life of the School and College, and commitment to active contributions in the profession. These contributions may include mentoring of student projects and development of pedagogy that engages students and fosters deep learning. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching with evidence of active student engagement. An ability to assist in the recruitment of students for the Biology major will be necessary.
- Ph.D. in life sciences with a strong preference for molecular biology or genetics
