Barton College is accepting applications for Assistant Coach of Men’s Basketball, an 8-month, part-time position with a start date of September 1, 2018. Barton College Athletics is a member of the Conference Carolinas and competes at the NCAA Division II level.
Duties as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach include, but are not limited to, assisting in the recruitment and retention of the team that meets departmental roster goal numbers; practice and game coaching; conducting skill instruction sessions; providing leadership to facilitate academic and personal success by the team’s student-athletes; performance of other administrative tasks necessary in coaching the team; involvement in the Wilson community with activities such as team community service work, camps, youth clinics, and promotion of the sport. Travel is required.
Minimum requirements include coaching or basketball background at the collegiate level. Academic credit towards an undergraduate education. The successful applicant will need to have certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED. A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred requirements include:
- Bachelor degree in an appropriate area of specialization
- College administrative experience
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation will be a work opportunity not to exceed 43 hours per month. Pay is $2,500 for the 8-month period. Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
