Minor Programs for Business Majors

Accounting Minor Program
Accounting courses: ACC 101, 102, 210, 220, 300, 320.

Total: 18 semester hours.

Business Administration Minor Requirements:

ACC 101; ECO 101; FIN 290; MGT 290; MKT 290; plus 2 upper level business electives.

Total: 21 semester hours.

Note: The Business Administration Minor is not available to a Business Administration (BS) major.

Overview of the Business Administration Degree Program

Our students will:

  • value citizenship, leadership, and service while behaving in ways that are socially and professionally acceptable; and
  • acquire business-ready qualities so that they may communicate effectively, problem solve, and think critically.

This will be accomplished through:

  • the dedication of our faculty to teaching and scholarship in order for students to receive the most relevant knowledge and opportunities; and
  • our commitment to small class size, experiential learning, extracurricular activities, and one-on-one interaction with our students.

FBLA Collegiate is a national association that brings business and education together through programs and services in which students, educators, and businesspeople learn about one another. The Barton chapter has won numerous awards at the state and national levels. Our members participate in both the State and National FBLA-Collegiate Leadership Conventions. The State conference is always in Charlotte, NC. The National Leadership Convention moves yearly, rotating among San Antonio, Orlando, Chicago, Anaheim, Atlanta, and Salt Lake City.
