Community Colleges, Independent Colleges and Universities Sign Revised Agreement Improving the Transfer Process

RALEIGH – The presidents of the North Carolina Community College System and North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities signed a revised Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (ICAA) on Thursday, August 27, that better defines transfer options for students between the two systems, saving North Carolinians money and potentially shortening the time to degree attainment. “This signing, joined with our revised agreement with the UNC system in 2014, brings North Carolina’s higher education alignment to a new level,” said Dr. R. Transfer Scholarships

Transfer Scholarships Transfer student scholarships are based on the transferable GPA earned at the previous institution. We will determine the transferable GPA after application to the college and official transcripts are received. Admitted transfer students with fewer than 12 semester hours of transfer credit will, at the discretion of the Office of Admissions, be subject to the same scholarship criteria as that of entering freshmen. Barton College and Pitt Community College Partner on Transfer Agreements

WINTERVILLE — May 5, 2015 — Pitt Community College administrators signed a pair of articulations with Barton College this week to establish clear pathways for University Transfer and Human Services Technology (Gerontology) graduates to continue their studies at the private, four-year institution in nearby Wilson. Transfer of Credits

Transfer of Credits All courses taken for general education credit toward an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree will transfer to Barton. At Barton, these courses are accepted for core credit even if you have not yet completed your associate’s degree. The College does not give any credit for grades below a “C.” Barton College participates in the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement with North Carolina Community Colleges. Up to sixty-four (64) semester hours can transfer from a two-year college. Transfer Admissions Process To be considered for transfer admission into Barton College, submit a completed online application and transcripts from all previously attended institutions. To ensure evaluation of your credits, we recommend that all completed applications and official transcripts be received at least three weeks before your intended session of enrollment. To be admitted to Barton College as a transfer student, you must have a minimum 2.0 transfer grade point average (GPA) in a minimum of 12 transferable credit hours.
