WLSON, N.C. — March 28, 2018 — Books will be set aside in classrooms on Tuesday, April 10, as students and professors gather with administrators and staff to celebrate academic excellence during the 2018 Day of Scholarship on Barton College’s campus. Disciples Scholarships

Disciples Scholarships Barton students who are members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) may be eligible for significant scholarships. Be sure to indicate on your admissions application your affiliation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). If you have already applied and did not include this information, please contact the Office of Admissions at 800-345-4973 or email The Higher Education and Leadership Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) offers scholarships to members of the Christian Church attending Barton. Applications, which are due in March each year, are available through the Office of Financial Aid and the Chaplain’s Office.

Transfer Scholarships

Transfer Scholarships Transfer student scholarships are based on the transferable GPA earned at the previous institution. We will determine the transferable GPA after application to the college and official transcripts are received. Admitted transfer students with fewer than 12 semester hours of transfer credit will, at the discretion of the Office of Admissions, be subject to the same scholarship criteria as that of entering freshmen. Transfer High Honors Scholarship The Transfer High Honors Scholarship honors the achievement of students who have been extremely successful during their previous college or university experience and promotes continued academic excellence. WILSON, N.C. — Barton College hosted its fourth annual Scholarship Recognition Luncheon on April 10, 2008, to honor the philanthropy of the donors and the hard work of the scholarship recipients. Barton president Norval Kneten welcomed the guests and called on Peter Harper, recipient of the Disciples Leadership Scholarship, the W. D. Adams Memorial Scholarship, and the Elizabeth Fay Brinson Memorial Scholarship, to deliver the invocaton. Harper is a sophomore from Greenville majoring in religion and philosophy. Following the buffet lunch, Dr. Kneten introduced twin brothers and 1973 Atlantic Christian/Barton College alumni Robert and William Andrews. Myers, Chairman and CEO of Watson Electrical, will be honored at the fifteenth annual Wilson-Barton Partnership Leadership Award Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 26, on the campus of Barton College. The event, to be held on Center Campus, will begin at 6:30 p.m.  The Wilson-Barton Partnership, 15 years strong, began out of Barton’s desire to further strengthen its relationship with its hometown community of Wilson.
