Barton College / Wilson Symphony to Present a Live Stream Concert on November 22

WILSON, N.C. — November 2, 2020 — The Barton College / Wilson Symphony is pleased to present its 2020 Fall Concert on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. in the Kennedy Family Theatre. This year’s concert will feature two concertos by Mozart: “Violin Concerto No. 4,” performed by the Barton College / Wilson Symphony concert master Christopher Ellis; and “Piano Concerto No. 20,” performed by celebrated pianist Dexter Ruffin. “We are embarking on a great adventure,” shared conductor Mark N. Pride of Doves Opens on Theatre at Barton Stage on November 12

WILSON, N.C. — November 2, 2020 — Theatre at Barton is excited to present “Pride of Doves” by Doug Robinson on November 12 through November 14 at 7:30 p.m. and also on November 15 at 3 p.m. in the Kennedy Family Theatre. This dramatic production examines systemic racial, social and criminal justice issues and offers a thought-provoking message to the audience regarding a responsible approach to ending the cycle of injustice. The playwright is actively working with Barton theatre faculty and students to prepare this abstract theatrical production for its North Carolina premiere. Friends of Visual Arts Welcomes Museum Director Gab Smith to Speak on November 10

WILSON, N.C. — November 2, 2020 — The Barton Art Galleries at Barton College is excited to host the Friends of Visual Arts Fall Lecture featuring Gab Smith, executive director of CAM (contemporary Art Museum) in Raleigh. The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m., in the Barton Art Galleries in Case Art Building on campus. The title of Smith’s presentation will be “Contemporary Art Museum As Change Agent.” Seating will be limited and advance reservations are required because of social distancing requirements, but there is no charge to attend the lecture.
