WILSON, N.C. — October 7, 2020 — Staff member Eddie Hopkins served Barton College faithfully for 61 years, and his tenure stands as a symbol of dedication, commitment, strong work ethic, and loyalty. Barton College is pleased to announce that the campus services building will be renamed the Eddie R. Hopkins Facilities Services Building in honor of Mr. Hopkins’ legacy and devotion to the College. While his employment at Barton began in 1959 in college dining services, most of Mr. Hopkins’ tenure was spent as a devoted member of the campus landscaping/grounds team. WILSON, N.C. — October 6, 2020 — Congratulations to Barton College’s Bartlomiej Swiderski, a junior business administration major from Warszawa, Poland, who has been named the James H. Bearden Sigma Beta Delta Scholarship Award recipient for 2020. The $1,500.00 scholarship award is provided to encourage and support future academic studies. Barton College currently has an opening for two Custodial Workers responsible for cleaning assigned buildings. Regular duties include vacuuming classrooms and offices, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, wiping and dusting vertical and horizontal surfaces, and performing annual maintenance such as waxing floors and cleaning carpets.
