WILSON, N.C. —August 27, 2020 — Barton College will welcome poet and musician Jim Clark as the featured speaker for this year’s Joyce T. Boone Southern Authors Series Lecture. The program will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. in Howard Chapel on campus. This event is open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend. WILSON, N.C. — August 10, 2020 — Barton College was well represented at the recent Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference, held remotely this summer as a result of Covid-19. Eight Barton students placed in 10 of the national competitive events, ranking them among the top Phi Beta Lambda business students across the country. Twelve Barton chapter members participated in a variety of competitive events. Holly Johnson, an MBA student from Wilson, placed first in Management Concepts and first in Marketing Concepts. Hopkins was listed as an essential employee, as Barton College made decisions in March regarding who would work from home and who would continue their work on campus during the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic the past spring semester. Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to hit the North Carolina shore this evening, and we will most likely feel its impact overnight into the early hours of Tuesday, August 4, 2020. As a result, we encourage all faculty and staff who can work remotely to do so until noon on Tuesday and/or until the  storm moves out of our area.
