WILSON, N.C. — The Barton Art Galleries and the Barton College Friends of Visual Arts is pleased to sponsor “Mapping to Achieve Your Best Art” Workshop, led by professor emeritus of art and artist-in-residence J. Chris Wilson. This two-day event will include a lecture by Wilson on Tuesday, March 19, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.  On Wednesday, March 20, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., there will be appointments on the hour (by reservation only) for individuals to create their own personal mapping plan with the assistance of Wilson. Second Annual W.I.S.E. Girls Empowerment Camp On March 16

WILSON, N.C. — Barton College is excited to host the second annual W.I.S.E. Girls Empowerment Camp for girls in grades 6-12 on Saturday, March 16. W.I.S.E. stands for Women Inspiring Success and Empowerment, and this camp’s focus will be to empower and inspire young females through a series of fun activities and workshops that will also educate them about positive body image, self-esteem, goal-setting, leadership, health & fitness and more. We made it! We finally made it to Haiti after months of planning, fundraising, and anxious worries. We made it! To fully understand what we – 12 students and 3 adults – are experiencing, I believe it is important to understand the history and culture of Haiti. There are so many neat and inspiring stories that are in Haiti’s past. The first thing to understand is where Haiti is located.
