Barton Welcomes Joanna Catherine Scott for Victor R. Small Writers Series on Feb. 22

Wilson, N.C. — Barton College will welcome novelist and poet Joanna Catherine Scott for the upcoming Victor R. Small Writers Series this spring semester. The program is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m., and will be held in The Sam and Marjorie Ragan Writing Center on campus. This event is open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend. Barton College and Belk of Wilson Partner In Raising Awareness for Heart Health

WILSON, N.C. — Educating customers about healthy hearts was the focus of a Heart Health Awareness Day at Belk of Wilson on Saturday, and partnering with Belk for the wellness education event were the Barton College School of Nursing and the Barton College Association of Nursing Students (BCANS). From noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Barton nursing students Nancy Thompson, Ashley Murray, and Amy King were on hand at Belk to provide free blood pressure screenings. In addition to sharing information about cardiovascular disease and stroke, the nursing students discussed the risk factors of smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and high cholesterol, and their damaging effects on the heart. Barton Hosts The Scholastic Art Awards For Eastern/Central N.C. Region

WILSON, N.C. – Barton College will welcome students from across the state to celebrate their creativity at the annual Scholastic Art Awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday, January 23.  This marks the 33rd year that Barton College has served as host and regional sponsor for the National Scholastic Art Awards for the Eastern/Central North Carolina Region.
