WILSON, N.C. – Imagine three sisters who, while connected by bloodline, have no similar interests or aspirations. Now, add the many trials and tribulations that come along with a dysfunctional family dynamic. The result will be the hilarious dark comedy, “Crimes of the Heart” by Beth Henley, opening on the Barton stage April 17. The production, which runs through April 20 in Howard Chapel, has nightly shows Thursday – Saturday at 8 p.m. and a matinee at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. respectively. WILSON, N.C. — Former U.S. President Bill Clinton appeared before a crowd of students, faculty, staff, and Wilson community members Saturday, April 12, on center campus at Barton College to encourage voters to support his wife Senator Hillary Clinton in North Carolina’s primary in her race for the Democratic nomination and for the presidency. Scholarship Donors and Recipients Honored at Luncheon

WILSON, N.C. — Barton College hosted its fourth annual Scholarship Recognition Luncheon on April 10, 2008, to honor the philanthropy of the donors and the hard work of the scholarship recipients. Barton president Norval Kneten welcomed the guests and called on Peter Harper, recipient of the Disciples Leadership Scholarship, the W. D. Adams Memorial Scholarship, and the Elizabeth Fay Brinson Memorial Scholarship, to deliver the invocaton. Harper is a sophomore from Greenville majoring in religion and philosophy. “Generation Digital Y” Opens in the Barton Art Galleries on April 5

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton Art Galleries are proud to present “Generation Digital Y,” an exhibition of designs and photographs by the 2008 graduating Barton art students. “Generation Digital Y” will open on April 5, with a reception from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. This event is open to the public at no charge, and the community is invited to attend. The exhibition will run until Friday, May 9. Work by Marcos E. Alices-Kinch of Fayetteville will be on view in the Virginia Thompson Graves Gallery. Wilson, N.C. – North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine F. Marshall will be the featured speaker at Barton College’s fifth annual Habitat for Humanity Spring Benefit to be held on Tuesday, April 15. The benefit, sponsored by the Habitat for Humanity student chapter, promises to be an evening of food and celebration as guests have an opportunity to recognize the work of Habitat for Humanity in the Wilson community. The Clinton Campaign notified Barton College on Tuesday evening, that our campus has been selected as the host site for President Bill Clinton’s visit to Wilson on Saturday, April 12,2008. The Solutions for America event, scheduled for Saturday on Center Campus, will be open to the public beginning at 11:30 a.m. President Clinton is returning to North Carolina this week for appearances on Friday in Roanoke Rapids and Rocky Mount and on Saturday in Greenville and Wilson.
