Lifelong and Extended Programs

Barton College's Summer Session is open to Barton College students, students from other colleges and universities, teachers renewing licensure, high school graduates accelerating their college programs, and individuals in the community pursuing personal interests in the liberal arts. The normal course load allowed for a summer term is six (6) semester hours. However, any student may take seven (7) hours if the course load includes a four-hour science course or any one-hour course. The College reserves the right to cancel any course for which fewer than seven students enroll. Day classes meet Monday through Thursday unless otherwise specified. See the schedule for specific meeting days of evening classes.

Financial Aid

Limited Financial Aid is available to students enrolled during the Summer Session. Students must take at least six (6) semester hours of classes in order to be considered for assistance. There is an additional application that must be completed in order to receive aid. Please contact the Financial Aid Office to obtain this application.

Application

Individuals who were not enrolled at Barton in the spring of the current academic year must complete a Summer Session Application. The application may be obtained here and should be returned to: Lifelong and Extended Programs, Barton College, Post Office Box 5000, Wilson, North Carolina 27893-7000 or simply call 1-800-767-6305.
