Workshops
Career Services Workshops will be held every Friday at 1:00 in the Career Center. For the week prior to any career fair there will be daily Preparing for a Career Fair workshops at 4:00 on Thursdays.

Career Exploration and Decision-Making
This workshop will provide direction and assistance with choosing a major, identifying career areas of interest, or transitioning to new majors/careers. The workshop will provide an overview of career resources available to help you take charge of your career.
Resume and Cover Letters
Basics of resume writing and format. After completing this workshop, you will be able to design a resume and cover letter that are visually pleasing as well as illustrative of appropriate and impressive content.
Working Overseas
For Americans traveling to work abroad, learn what work permits you’ll need, how to effectively canvas the country’s work opportunities, and the cultural nuances of foreign practices. Strategies and resources for international job and internship search will also be covered.
Interview Skills
This workshop identifies the various types of interviewing. Participants will review the skills and characteristics employers identify as essential in being successful in the job market.
Also, participants will identify how to prepare for potential questions by carefully examining information about the positions for which they’re applying.
Dress For Success
Style of dress reflects attitudes toward oneself and work in general. People who look successful have a better chance for a better job at a higher salary. Learn the rules that apply to interview and business attire.
Salary Negotiation
Learning the fine art of salary negotiation and how to effectively handle different questions relating to salary during an interview. Full knowledge of salary negotiation can be critical to your successful final negotiation at salary and benefits.
Getting into Grad School
This workshop will help you learn the application process for entrance examinations, obtaining letters of recommendation, financial aid options and selecting accredited graduate/professional school programs.
