June 4 (First Summer Session) or July 16 (Second Summer Session) -- due by noon

• Read and critique (email instructor) Business Netiquette
• Read "The Tos and Froms of E-Mail" and Effective E-Mail techniques
• Read and critique (email instructor) E-Mail Etiquette
• Using your e-mail program, establish a Nickname/Address Book for this class. Submit a list of the steps via e-mail to the instructor.
• Read Cool Signature Files. Using your e-mail program, identify yourself and create a signature that will be placed on all messages.
• Compile a list of the special features/options you frequently use with your e-mail program. Which options would you like more info on? E-mail to all classmates and instructor.
• Discover emoticons and use them frequently when you prepare a HomePage (Blackboard/Tools). Include an Introduction, Personal Info, and 3 Favorite Links.
• Read Chapter 5. Answer Review Questions on p. 123-124. Complete p. 124, Exercises 1, 2.  Blackboard Digital DropBox.
• Read Chapter 6. Answer Review Questions on p. 142. Complete p. 143, Exercises 1, 2, 3.  Blackboard Digital DropBox.
• View the HomePage of your classmates (Blackboard/Communication/Roster). Keypal with two classmates (Blackboard Discussion Board) who have similar jobs, hobbies, interests, talents, etc.
• Post to Blackboard Discussion Board p. 124, Exercise 3.  Respond to one classmate about his or her posting.
• Post to Blackboard Discussion Board p. 124, Exercise 4 (or tell us about your favorite chat room).  Respond to one classmate about his or her posting

• Intro to the World Wide Web and the Internet by reading and critiquing (email instructor) a History of the Internet, Tools of the Internet, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the Internet.
• Take a Tour of the Internet and read and critique (Blackboard Digital DropBox) a Beginner's Guide to URL's and Glossary of Internet Terms.
• Read Chapter 1. Answer Review Questions on p. 22. Complete p. 22-23, Exercises 1, 2, 3. Blackboard Digital DropBox.
• Post your response to p. 23, Exercise 2. b. to Blackboard Discussion Board. Respond to one classmate about his or her posting.
• Read and critique (e-mail instructor) WWW Chat Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Chat Lingo
• Chat with the meteorologists at Wral TV. Post your question and answer you expect to receive on Blackboard Discussion Board. If you receive an answer, post in Digital DropBox. Answer a question posed by one classmate.
• Read Chapter 2. Answer Review Questions on p. 50. Complete p. 50-51, Exercises 1, 4, 5.  Blackboard Digital DropBox.
• Read Chapter 3. Answer Review Questions on p. 78-79. Complete p. 79, Exercises 1, 2. Blackboard Digital DropBox.

• Read Chapter 8. Answer Review Questions on p. 190. Complete p. 190-191, Exercises 1, 2, 3, 4. Blackboard Digital DropBox.
• Create Web Pages using html. Read and critique Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about HTML and HTML Tutorial. Blackboard Digital DropBox.
• Discover Graphics (gifs). Email address of favorite site to classmates and instructor.
• Create Web Pages using free authoring software: Geocities, Angelfire, Google, and many, many others! Critique one site and email to classmates and instructor.
• Read Chapter 9. Answer Review Questions on p. 226. Complete p. 226-227, Exercises 1, 4, 5, 6. Blackboard Digital DropBox.
• Select any website. Evaluate the site using the four items listed under "Evaluating the Quality of a Web Page or Web Site" (text p. 222-223).  Blackboard Digital DropBox. Post to Blackboard Discussion Board.
• Read Chapter 10. Answer Review Questions on p. 240. Complete p. 241, Exercises 2, 3, 5. Blackboard Digital DropBox.
• Search for the Carolina Mudcats site. Post to Blackboard Discussion Board an interesting item.  Respond to classmate's posting.

June 25 (First Summer Session) or August 6 (Second Summer Session) – due by noon

• Final Project - Web Page

Submit on CD to instructor (if prepared in html or Word) or provide URL (if prepared using an authoring software).
