Friends of Hackney Library
Even as we move more and more into the digital realm, Hackney Library remains the core of Barton's identity and continues to play a critical educational role. The Friends of Hackney Library provides the support necessary to ensure our library continues to offer the up-to-date physical and technological resources our students require.

As a member of Friends of Hackney Library, you're able to:

  • Borrow from the library and through interlibrary loans
  • Receive a $5.00 discount on tickets to the Friends of Hackney Library Dinner & Lecture Series
  • Support the development of the library's collection and other special projects
  • Participate with other book-minded people in special programs

Membership Levels

  • Student: $5 per year
  • Contributing: $20 per year
  • Family: $30 per year
  • Patron: $100 per year
  • Benefactor: $250 per year
  • Life: $1000

Friends of Visual Arts
The Friends of Visual Arts enriches the cultural life of Barton and the surrounding community through arts education programs and the presentation of quality regional, national, and international artists.

Membership allows you to:

  • Attend members-only gallery openings and special events
  • Meet with visiting artists and guest lecturers
  • Participate with other art enthusiasts in special educational programs, including lectures and classes

Barton College/Wilson Symphony Orchestra
The Barton College/Wilson Symphony Orchestra is a teaching orchestra that provides an extraordinary opportunity for members of the college community and the Wilson community to combine their musical talents in the study and performance of symphonic music.

The orchestra offers the public four performances each year, including two signature dinner performances, Symphony and Soul and Love the Symphony. Much of the orchestra's support comes from fundraising efforts. Through these efforts, the orchestra hires professional musicians to both perform and mentor student musicians.

Membership Levels:

  • Friend (one season ticket): $20-$49
  • Contributor (two season tickets): $50-$99
  • Donor (four season tickets): $100-$249
  • Patron (four season tickets): $250-$499
  • Sustainer (six season tickets): $500-$999
  • Guarantor (six season tickets): $1,000-$2,499
  • Sponsor (eight season tickets): $2,500-$3,999
  • Benefactor (eight season tickets): $4,000-up
Memorial memberships are also available.

Each ticket is valued at $10.00. Any amount over that is considered a tax-deductible contribution.
