Shawn P. McCauley, M.A.

Shawn McCauley earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English at East Carolina University, and he is currently a doctoral candidate at Emory University in Atlanta. His dissertation, “Between Bodies: (Re)Constructing Corporeality in Early Modern England,” focuses on representations of the human body in the works of Edmund Spenser, William Shakespeare, and John Donne, and how these texts relate to the historical, philosophical, and medical contexts of the Renaissance. McCauley joined the Barton College faculty in 2010 and has since taught courses in freshman composition, British literature, Shakespeare, and American and Western Culture. He has previously held teaching appointments at East Carolina University and Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
