Rich Patterson joined the Barton College athletic training staff in August 2009. He is an assistant professor and the Clinical Coordinator of the Athletic Training Education Program. Patterson graduated from Hofstra University in 2001 with a Master of Science degree in physical education and received his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Alfred University in 1997.
Patterson brings twelve years of certified athletic training experience to Barton College. Most recently, Patterson worked as a sales representative for an orthopedic implant company. Prior to that, he spent one year at Slippery Rock University as an assistant athletic trainer before being promoted to Coordinator of Athletic Training Services and instructor in the university’s Athletic Training Education Program from 2003-2007.
Before working at SRU, Patterson was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. His primary sport responsibilities were football and wrestling. Prior to this, he gained three years of experience as the assistant athletic trainer at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.
Patterson and his wife Allison have two sons, Jax and Colt.
