Patricia Perry-Brandon is an assistant professor and the Director of Field Education in the School of Social Work. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her M.S.W. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has completed a number of post graduate courses at various universities.
Approximately fifteen years prior to joining the Barton College faculty, Brandon served as a juvenile probation officer and as a social worker in various social service agencies (Department of Social Services, the children’s unit of a mental health hospital, a children’s home where she was a children’s therapist).
She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Council on Social Work Education, and the North Carolina Field Educators Consortium.
Brandon’s main areas of research interest are children’s issues and domestic violence. She enjoys reading mystery books and has traveled extensively in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
