Luke Aeschleman came to Barton College in the fall of 2012 with an aptitude for web development and information technology. However, he wasn’t always an “IT guy.” Aeschleman received two B.A.s from Appalachian State University in Creative Writing and Performance Theatre. He moved to Ohio to study education, where he took graduate coursework on reading, language, and literacy at Miami University. While studying, Aeschleman worked as a senior library technician in the Instructional Materials Center. After falling in love with academic libraries, Aeschleman switched career paths and received his Masters of Library and Information Science from Kent State University. At Kent, Aeschleman concentrated his efforts on studying information technology and its impact on education, libraries, and society.
Aeschleman’s primary research focus is on information search behavior. He specializes in human-computer interaction (HCI), query formulation, and the psychology of information seeking.
