Dr. Conklin received her undergraduate degree from Colorado Women’s College in family studies, her M.S.W. from Tulane University, and her Ph.D. in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been at Barton College since 2006. The dean of the School of Social Work, she teaches in both the traditional day program and the Accelerated Professional Programs. Her professional social work experience includes six years in Germany working for the American military with both substance abuse and domestic violence populations. Most recently, she traveled to Cuba to study the delivery of social services in that country.
