Ann Dolman joined Barton College’s Hackney Library staff in 1991. She served for 10 years as the Sunday librarian and became a full-time reference librarian in 2001. She also acted as Hackney Library’s interim library director from July 2004 until January 2006. In addition to her academic librarianship at Barton, Dolman has six years of experience as a school librarian and a public library reference librarian. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from the College of William and Mary and her Master of Science degree in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of both the Beta Phi Mu Library and Information Studies Honor Society and the North Carolina Library Association.
Dolman currently serves as Hackney Library’s Outreach and Public Services Librarian and is responsible for coordinating the following services for the Barton community and the many patrons of Hackney Library: reference services and reference collection development; library programming; instructional design in conjunction with information literacy; bibliographic instruction; and marketing of library events, services, and products. She also manages the content for the library’s web page.
