Head Coach Michael Michalakis
His educational background includes a Master of Science in Physical Education with concentration in Biomechanics of Exercise from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Sports from Aristotle University of Greece. He also holds an Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Michalakis served as the head women's soccer coach and instructor in the department of Physical Education and Health at Louisburg College from 2004 to 2007 and amassed a record of 19-25-5. Student-athlete recruitment, academic advising and the overall management of the women's soccer program, along with teaching in the Department of Physical Education and Health, were his main duties. In 2006 and 2007, he was a member of the Academic Affairs Committee at Louisburg College. In 2003, Michalakis coached the men's soccer team at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, N.C. The Crusaders posted a record of 20-1-2 while capturing the conference championship for the Triangle Independent School Athletic Conference and reached the state final. The program was ranked #1 in North Carolina and as high as #7 at the Southeast Region and Michalakis was named Regional Coach of the Year. Prior to that, he coached the boys and girls teams at Enloe High School and compiled an overall 4-year record of 53-17-16. From 2002 to 2004, Michalakis was involved with youth soccer as the coach of the U-13 Girls Classic teams for Triangle Futbol Club, attaining an overall record of 23-11-4. During that time, he was awarded the Pat Weber Good Sportsmanship Award from the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association.
