BLAST
Barton Leadership Adventures Student Trips
The purposes of BLAST are to:- Encourage and assist students in forming ongoing friendships with their classmates
- Provide an educational activity outside of the college environment while promoting leadership and instilling confidence
- Promote activity, community, and service within the first-year class
- Support students in transitioning from home into the college community
This year we are pleased to offer the following two BLAST opportunities:
North Carolina Baseball
August 19, 2008Cost: $40
Experience North Carolina's rich baseball history beginning with a tour of the 70-year-old Fleming Stadium, Wilson's very own one-time minor league stadium. Following the stadium tour, discover the state's baseball past with a visit to the North Carolina Baseball Museum, which has over 3,000 square feet of showcases and baseball memorabilia from across the state. Cap the night off cheering for the Carolina Mudcats in a luxury suite as they take on the Mississippi Braves at the award-winning Five County Stadium in Zebulon, North Carolina. Transportation will be provided throughout the day. Space is available to the first 30 respondents.
Surf Camp
August 19, 2008Cost: $175
Join us for a trip to North Carolina's surf coast. Whether you are a first-time surfer or a moderate surfer who would like some tips on surfing better, this trip is for you. Enjoy a three-hour, personalized surfing lesson followed by a full day at the beach. Everyone will have their own surfboard to use the entire day. Transportation will be provided and space is available to the first 12 respondents.
