Barton College offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degrees in
Studio Art (B.F.A.) with a concentration in Graphic Design,
Photography, Ceramics or Painting. Students may choose to do the
Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) with dual concentrations
in two separate studio areas. Barton also offers a Bachelor
of Science degree (B.S.) in Art Education with licensure to
teach art from kindergarten through 12th .
Barton College was founded in 1902 and had art classes in oil
painting, charcoal sketching from nature and china painting from
the very beginning. The department and programs have evolved to
include the professional programs of Graphic Design and
