While parents have expressed interest in supporting the efforts of the admissions and career services areas, there maybe additional areas you’re interested in as well.

II. Admissions
The Admissions Office would like to identify parents of current students who would be willing to help Barton in its efforts to inform prospective students and their parents about the College. Please check below if you would be willing to:

Be included in the Parent Directory, a listing of parents of current Barton students who are willing to be contacted by prospective students and their parents.
Host an informational and/or congratulatory open house in your home for prospective students and their parents.
Attend receptions and open houses for prospective students and their parents which take place in your local area.
Assist Barton College admission counselors at college fairs in your local area.
Call prospective students and their parents in your local area.



III. Internships & Careers
The goals of the Career Services Center are to assist students in gathering information about internships, careers and in locating job opportunities. Please check below if you would be willing to:

Participate in the Job Referral Program by forwarding information on entry-level or summer employment opportunities.
Come to Barton to speak to a group or to a class about your area of expertise.
Talk to students/alumni by phone or in a personal interview regarding your career.
Internships provide students with opportunities to relate their liberal arts studies to specific career fields, to test skills and interests and to apply theory to practical work settings.

Internships can be undertaken in any professional field during any academic term including summer and the one-month January term. Student interns can be paid or unpaid (decided by the sponsoring organization) and they receive credit for the internship.

The sponsor of a student intern provides the work setting, a supervisor to advise and oversee the student in his or her work, and a written evaluation of the student at the conclusion of the internship. Please check below if you would be willing to:
